Patsy Lohn
My name is Greg Lohn. I have been asked to write a few words about my mom, Patsy Lohn. Those who know her know well know that mere words can not describe the years of dedication to muzzleloading and the thankless tasks she has performed for the TMLRA.
When the Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Association first came to Brady, Texas many years ago, Patsy Lohn was there with her two young sons, Billy and Greg. She enjoyed competing on the firing line, visiting the many campsites and developing numerous lifelong friendships. As her two young sons grew, so did her involvement in the organization. From helping out in the range house pulling targets to posting scores on the "Wailing Wall", Patsy Lohn has helped out where she was needed.
Patsy Lohn was elected Secretary/Treasurer in June of 1982 taking over that position from Terri Trotter. She served off and on for several years being unanimously placed in office in June of 1992. She served a total of 22 years at this position tearfully retiring in June of 2008 due to medical reasons. She not only took the minutes of the meetings and took care of the money for the shoots but she made sure the electricity was on before the shoots, the campground was mowed and sprayed, the bathrooms were clean, and numerous other duties we now know we all took for granted. She also has made sure the lines of communication were kept open between the TMLRA officers and directors and the City of Brady.
In June of 1985, Patsy Lohn was honored by being inducted into the Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Association Hall of Fame along with Charlie Greenway.
She is a certified TMLRA Range Officer and a charter member of the Heart of Texas Muzzle Loading Club.
She has guided numerous people new to the sport of muzzleloading and made all persons feel welcome to join our TMLRA "Family".
Patsy Lohn's legacy will live on through her children and her grandchildren as they compete in the Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Association shoots every year.
Interviews about Patsy Lohn will be forthcoming.
